Grycol International Pty. Limited was first incorporated in 1967 after having traded under a business name for the previous 5 years. It was the introduction by Grycol of Brazilian manufactured firearms to the Australian market in 1966 that saw significant growth in sales that necessitated incorporation. The following years were halcyon years during which we were appointed distributors for Lee Precision reloading products. In 1985, Grycol were appointed as the Australian distributors and service centre for Smith & Wesson with the brief to service the Law Enforcement and domestic markets. We were later appointed as Australian distributors for Pardini, manufacturers of high quality Target Pistols, Pietta manufacturers of the finest reproduction western action revolvers and L&R Manufacturing, manufacturers of ultrasonic weapons cleaning systems.
The next step in our growth was to expand our service to the Australian Law Enforcement community. In 1991, Grycol approached Defense Technology Corporation of America, manufacturers of Riot Control munitions and Oleoresin Capsicum aerosols and were successful in securing the Australian distribution. Defense Technology became part of the Safariland group of companies following which, Grycol were appointed Australian distributors for Forensics Source, manufacturers of a wide range of crime scene investigative and drug testing products. More recently, we were fortunate to add LPA handgun sights to our range of quality Italian manufactured products. This range will be expanded to encompass their range of long gun sights.
In 2010, additional warehouse premises were purchased north of Sydney to house our expanding product range and increased stock holding. Our Smith & Wesson Service centre based in Alexandria and housing our spare parts inventory, was updated with new machinery, work stations, additional parts storage and tooling.
